DESCRIPTION:Join the 2026 City Nature Challenge! \n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce that LIISMA is partnering with the iNaturalist ambassador program to support the first-ever City Nature Challenge (CNC) on Long Island! \n\n\n\nWhat is it?\n\n\n\nThe City Nature Challenge is a global community science “bioblitz” organized by the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. The goal is to document as many wild organisms as possible to create a massive open-access database of local biodiversity. \n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n\n\nDates: April 24th – April 27th\, 2026 \n\n\n\nLocation: Anywhere on Long Island! (Your backyard\, local parks\, or nature preserves) \n\n\n\nHow to Participate: Simply take photos of wild plants\, animals\, and fungi and upload them to the iNaturalistapp. \n\n\n\nWhy Participate?\n\n\n\nBy joining in\, you help scientists and conservationists (like us at LIISMA!) better understand our local ecosystems.
