New From LIMAIS: An Introduction to Marine Invasive Species

The Long Island-Metro Aquatic Invasive Species Task Force is a collaborative of governmental agencies (federal, state, county agencies municipalities), non-profits, and public stakeholders. LIMAIS works together to increase awareness of aquatic invasive species (AIS), promote AIS prevention, survey and monitor waterbodies, manage infestations, and promote research.

LIMAIS members have written An Introduction to Marine Invasive Species to frame issues of marine aquatic invasive species around Long Island and identify where public engagement and outreach can be most effective. This new resource is available to LIISMA partners to expand our understanding of marine invasives and prepare the region to respond to and prevent marine invasive species.
